A very fine and lovely pair of antique Victorian drop earrings in the archaeological revival style taking inspiration from the finds shown in museums from ancient Etruria. Light and easy to wear, they are ornamented with twisted wirework and mercury gilded for a gentle mattified finish.
Created in Pinchbeck or Tombac both of which were alloy metal Gold substitutes used during the Victorian era; the work is just as skilled as if they had been solid Gold. They measure 26mm from the top of the wires to the base.
